At BADGE we recognise that our positive impact can extend beyond the construction site.
BADGE takes great pride in its commitment to help improve our communities through a variety of partnerships, sponsorships and donations. Our staff are a generous bunch so we do our best to support the causes close to their hearts, too. Each company or state office within the group is encouraged to develop an ongoing relationship with a major charity so we can ensure our support is long-lasting and tangible.
Hutt St Centre
BADGE SA has enjoyed a long-relationship with the Hutt Street Centre – a frontline agency for Adelaide’s homeless and vulnerable people. This partnership has allowed staff to participate in fundraising and volunteering, and alongside some valued subcontractors,to donate time and resources to update the centre’s facilities.
In 2009 BADGE SA sponsored the centre’s inaugural Walk a Mile event, designed to raise awareness of homelessness in our community. We’ve been involved ever since, with the 2015 event raising a staggering $220,000 for the centre’s education programs. Staff manning the BADGE BBQ – as it is now known – cooked 3500 eggs and 110 kg of bacon for breakfast sandwiches for 2800 walkers!
Hear and Say
BADGE QLD has been supporting Hear and Say since 2014, generating an impressive $17,000 for the organisation in 2015 through a range of fundraisers and events.
Hear and Say is one of the leading paediatric Auditory-Verbal and Implantable Technologies (including cochlear implants) organisations in the world, teaching children who are deaf to hear, listen and speak since 1992.
Annually, more than 1500 Queensland children and young adults affected by hearing loss benefit from Hear and Say’s services and programs.
As well as monetary donations, BADGE QLD staff have given their time and manpower to run a working bee at Hear and Say’s 10-year-old Nambour Centre. The facility was given a facelift with about a dozen staff pitching in to help with various tasks including gardening, cleaning and general repair work.
