One project, the University of Sunshine Coast Multi-Level Car Park, was recognised by both the Master Builders Association Sunshine Coast Housing & Construction Awards and the Australian Institute of Building (AIB) Awards.

The project involved the construction of a 60 bay one-grade carpark and 500 bay, four level carpark on the university’s Sippy Downs campus.

The car park’s design took into account future expansion plans and well as positioning the facility as an architectural landmark on the campus, achieved through clever use of screens and lighting.

Another university project, the University of Southern Queensland Education Gateways Building, won the Master Builder’s Awards Education Facilities over $20 million category.

Meantime, the QLD Rail Management Centre won the Commercial Construction $10m-$50m at the AIB Awards which recognise project teams and leaders for outstanding performance.

QLD State Manager Glenn Rashleigh says the different awards highlight BADGE’s reputation for managing projects that require a high level of technical design and construction expertise.

‘It’s particularly pleasing to receive recognition for our work with the University of Sunshine Coast, a repeat client of BADGE’s with whom we have built a strong partnership,’ Glenn says.

The Queensland honours have kicked off a successful awards season for the national BADGE Group. Its South Australian arm was crowned SA Commercial Builder of the Year at the state Master Builder’s Awards, after a win and two commendations for three different projects.
