The redevelopment of the Caloundra Hospital involved the design and construction of several buildings to house and service renal and oral units, observation, occupational therapy, community health, palliative care wards and a pharmacy. All works had to be completed to Australasian Health Facilities and Queensland Oral Health guidelines.

The facility consists of 2100m² over two storeys for the oral health & renal dialysis unit and 510m² over another two storeys for the observation ward and associated plant.

A single-storey palliative care unit now occupies a 714m² building.

Construction works were conducted within an operational site – the success of which was directly attributed to close consultation with the Principal’s representatives and on-site hospital representatives, ensuring the timely delivery of works within the project scope.

The works themselves included the construction of concrete reinforced and steel clad buildings along with the renovation and decanting of existing buildings for out – patients and imaging facilities & services.
