Stage 2 of the $14m Curtin Engineering Pavilion Complex was recently completed by the BADGE team.

  • Client Curtin University of Technology
  • Location Bentley WA
  • Value $14M
  • Contract Hard Money, Construct Only

The four-level facility provides 2460m² of flexible space and is physically linked to the Stage 1 building. The building also serves as the administrative hub for the engineering precinct, accommodating the Pro Vice- Chancellor of Science and Engineering, Deans and other executive staff.

The physical appearance of the building demonstrates the field of ‘engineering’ through expressive structural elements and uses many unembellished external materials. Inside, the facility has a layout that encourages academics and students to interact outside of the confines of formal and traditional teaching areas.

Our team undertook our traditional measures used for operational sites to ensure the safety of the public and reduced interruption to normal activities around the construction.

Important to the success of operational site construction is excellent communication between all stakeholders – this was done via regular meetings and visits to site with the client representative. This close liaison meant the team could easily make adjustments to the site perimeter to meet construction timelines and at the same time, accommodate university requirements including an Open Day.
