The Adelaide High School Redevelopment involved partial demolition of the existing structure, construction of the new ‘Hive’ building to provide general and outdoor learning areas, flexible learning spaces, a canteen café and amenities. Construction of an infill to Building 7 provides flexible science learning areas while an upgrade to the main courtyard and student courtyard ensures current compliance requirements. Additional classrooms provide space for Year 7s, scheduled to join Adelaide High School from 2022 onwards.

The central hub building forms not only a social destination for students, but offers spaces that encourage different ways of teaching and interaction for students and teachers. The terraced student veranda and café adjacent to the park lands signify that this is the school’s face to community life, representing entrepreneurial mindset and contemporary pedagogy.
