  • Sector Justice
  • Client Queensland Department of Housing and Public Works
  • Location Caboolture QLD
  • Value $11.8M
  • Contract Construct Only

Landscaping works, driveways and ancillary works to the rear southern portion of the site was also included.

Now able to process over 4000 prisoners every year, the new facility will have space for 40 prisoners, compared to the previous 14. It includes state-of-the-art facilities and technology for policing – a unique element to this project is the engagement of a specialist cell contractor.

Together with Queensland Police and First Nations representatives, the project’s Construction Manager facilitated grants and funding for a proposed artistic vision for the area. The plans for a unique storytelling opportunity about justice have been made visual through an Indigenous mural and carpet snake sculpture. Visualising stories of lore and conduct, it has created local Indigenous employment opportunity and connected community.
