Now a South Australian institution, the Fort Largs Police Academy required more modern and expansive facilities to train cadets into the SA Police Force.

  • Sector Justice
  • Client SAPOL
  • Location Taperoo SA
  • Value $43.5M
  • Contract Hard Money, Tendered

The works themselves consist of ten separate facilities for training including a scenario village complete with a mock bank, service station, bar and police station. Also completed was a new administration centre with associated amenities and support buildings, a resource centre, offices, auditorium and dining room, outdoor and indoor training facilities, plus significant landscaping to beautify the public area alongside the new Parade Ground.

The site itself was very large and also included extensive commissioning of specialty Information Technology equipment.

The project was handed over a month earlier than the approved completion date which and is an important project for Badge, utilising the benefits of being one of the few South Australian builders with Federal Safety Accreditation.

Badge had previously worked with SAPOL on the Netley Police Station, and one week after the handover of this project, was appointed the builder of the Murray Bridge Police Station.
