Our team undertook fifteen individual projects across nine separate buildings on the site including internal refurbishments, architectural works and electrical infrastructure and mechanical upgrades.

With a number of buildings occupied and the site remaining operational, clear communication with the stakeholders detailing exclusion zones & staging of works was imperative. This allowed safety to be at the forefront of conversations while construction movement occurred across site. A close relationship was made between our construction team and base personnel to ensure any shutdowns were planned in advance and followed Defence protocols.

Working with ageing buildings brought a high risk of asbestos and lead paint so correct identification of this and the subsequent controls in place to ensure human safety was of importance.

The success of this project was based around our management of the HOTO requirements which was agreed at commencement to be completed proactively and within four weeks of the project works finishing.
