The 6500m2 facility is similar in design and detailing to Inghams’ existing facility in the Murraylands region of South Australia. It incorporates unique hatching equipment and technology by HatchTech which improves animal welfare and provides hatchlings with feed, water and light.
Extensive demolition works were required to remove existing buildings, structures and foundations on the site, located in a light industrial area on the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.
While our ongoing relationship with Inghams meant that previous projects were directly negotiated, the company’s now publicly-listed status meant that a competitive tender process was run on this occasion. Through this process, our design team was able to demonstrate unrivalled expertise and value for money solutions, thus we were appointed as the head contractor.
