The School of Indigenous Studies building is the realisation of a 10-year concept at the University – further underlining the value of collaboration and preparation in the early stages.

  • Sector Education
  • Client University of Western Australia
  • Location Crawley WA
  • Value $14.2M
  • Contract Construct Only

Prior to construction commencing, our team worked closely with the University in a value management exercise, ensuring their vision would be achieved within budget. The team also used this early involvement phase to provide staging, services coordination and buildability solutions.

Within a busy operational campus our team brought to life a four-storey building that focused on function, coupled with high-end architectural design and finishes to include a bespoke glazed curtain wall system, fully integrated services, terrazzo tiling, native timber veneer walls and ceiling panels finished with native landscaping complimented by exposed aggregate footpaths and natural timber furniture/decking.

The design responds to the University’s need for upsized informal learning spaces, collaborative learning facilities, spill-out areas and postgraduate offices.

The finished building overlooks Matilda Bay from the southern precinct of the University, providing a picturesque working and learning environment.
