Yalari was proud to recently welcome a record number of guests to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre for their 20th Annual Dinner. The evening was filled with speeches and performances inspiring cultural connection.

In attendance were BADGE’s own Jai Johnson (Operations Manager), Mark McNab (Operations Manager), Beck Rose (Construction Administration Support), and Megan Fields (Construction Cadet). Following the evening, we asked the team how BADGE and Yalari work together. Earning a scholarship and now thriving as a Construction Cadet at BADGE, Megan Fields shared her experience with Yalari and how they have helped her transition into a career within the building industry:

“My journey with Yalari began in my first year of high school when I was awarded an Aboriginal Academic Scholarship to attend St Hilda’s Boarding School on the Gold Coast. From that moment, Yalari has been a constant source of guidance and support throughout both my educational and career journey.  Yalari’s mission extends far beyond education — they are dedicated to empowering and encouraging the next generation to reach their full potential. Even after graduating, Yalari continued to stand by me, ensuring I had the right support, career guidance, and employment pathways as I transitioned into new stages of life.

When I expressed my interest in advancing within the building industry, Yalari introduced me to BADGE, an outstanding construction company with a strong partnership with Yalari. Joining BADGE has opened many doors for me, providing valuable opportunities to learn, grow, and develop my skills within the industry. Through my time at BADGE, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside diverse teams and experienced professionals. Each project has been a rewarding experience, from watching a job progress to completion to learning from those with years of expertise. It has truly been an incredible journey, and I am deeply grateful to both Yalari and BADGE for the continued support and opportunities that have helped shape my career and personal growth.”

We’re proud to have Megan on our team and to support Yalari’s mission.

Here’s to 20 years of impact – and many more to come!
